When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart.

‎200 steel-studs to be precise, per tire. Makes biking much nicer in the winter;-).

Back on the bike

On my way to work 03052011. I appreciate our city for taking care of the bike-ways. I am so happy that I can enjoy winter commuting. Thank You.

This winter has not been fun for a commuter cyclist...

My fist spring "expedition"

I am in a bad shape after winter. The fist expedition was just 90 km and I felt haft dead on my way home. I need to train a lot if I plan to get all away cross North America ;-).

Jep, Jep, kevään ensimmäinen pyöräretki oli Helsingistä Veikkolaan ja takaisin. Otti koville. Todellakin, on oltava kunnon treeni kesä; jotta edes ymmärrän,
että olisiko minusta Amerikan valloittajaksi. Eilen kotimatkalla ihan nauratti omat suuret suunnitelmat.
Hienot sumuiset maisemat, reittiopas antaa aika kauniita reittivalintoja.

It is not pretty

It is not pretty when snow is melting in the city.
